Alpinestars Yokohama Suit Review

Finding a riding suit is quite simple, but finding a suit with durability, and security that fits our expectations takes a little bit of work. Alpinestars Yokohama Suit

The Alpinestars Yokohama Drystar Jacket is a perfect riding suit for all weather conditions. Alpinestars is a well-known brand in the motorcycle gear industry offering a wide variety of products for bike riders.

I have this jacket in a slick Dark Gray, Black, and Red design color that will offer me an amazing look over the standard black. This color is too versatile and makes me feel confident. No matter, where I will go for a ride, the Alpinestars jacket is the perfect suit for me.

The best part of this suit is, that it is available in two separate parts including a jacket and pants.

High-quality Material:

This Alpinestars riding suit is made from a poly-textile material which will provide enough protection, decent abrasion resistance, and versatility in all weather conditions. The Drystar® material underneath keeps you dry in rainy conditions. These materials are also available in pockets that protect your things from being wet.

Ventilation Option

The suit has enough ventilation options that you can open and close it as needed. We can see a ventilation zip opening in the arms, chest, and pants with exhaust vents at the back. When you close the zip, this becomes a perfect suit for the winter season. This Yokohama suit offers a multi-purpose option.

Weight and durability

I didn’t feel like there was a lot of weight in this Alpinestars Yokohama riding suit. These are made of lightweight yet durable materials. If I talk about durability then this suit is best for the long term. Until today, I have not fallen in the suit, but after wearing this suit for 6 months this suit is the same as previously.

Comfort

In my view, this suit is comfortable for wearing, riding, and moving your body parts. I did not face any issues with wearing and taking off this suit. The suit has enough zips to wear a jacket and pants.

What About its Pants

The pants are good based on size, durability, and fit. I feel, its knee guards are quite small and may not provide sufficient protection in a major accident, but they work reasonably well in minor, low-speed falls. The armor pieces are made of Sastec material.

These pants have deep pockets with zips that ensure your belongings like chewy, mobile, gadgets stay secure.

Another issue that I faced was with one of the pocket zips separating at the seam sealing. I suspect the issue may have been caused by using a too-fast spin cycle during washing. I suggest washing your gear at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and with a spin speed not exceeding 400 rpm to avoid any potential damage.

Pros and Cons Alpinestars Yokohama Suit

Pros:

  • Multi-material laminated poly-textile chassis construction
  • Effective venting provides excellent airflow.
  • Affordable option compared to other popular brands.
  • Clean and sharp styling enhances the overall look.

Cons:

  • The close-fit pants from the knee make it uncomfortable to wear bulky plastic knee guards underneath.
  • The waterproof outer shell may result in warmth when temperatures rise above the mid-twenties (Celsius).

Summary

If I summarize my overall Alpinestars Yokohama Suit Review in a few words then I can say it is good quality-wise, durability-wise, and protection-wise. In the last 6 months, I did not find any major issues with it. You can go for the more popular brand to buy a riding suit at a higher price. This is the perfect riding suit at an affordable price.
